The cezve — also known as an ibrik — is the traditional vessel for brewing Turkish coffee. When your cezve needs repair or restoration, our Westlands specialists are ready to help. Call 0709004600.

What Is a Cezve?

A cezve (pronounced "jezve") is a small, long-handled pot with a wide base and narrow neck, traditionally made from copper or brass, and sometimes from stainless steel or aluminium. It is used to brew finely ground coffee with water and sugar over low heat — a method dating back to the Ottoman Empire that UNESCO has recognised as part of Turkey's intangible cultural heritage.

Cezve Problems We Repair

Damaged or Loose Handles

Copper and brass cezve handles — often riveted or soldered — can loosen, crack, or snap. We re-rivet or re-solder handles, restoring safe use of your cezve.

Dents and Deformations

Copper and brass cezves can be dented from drops. We carefully reshape deformed cezve bodies without damaging the metal.

Tinning Restoration

Traditional copper cezves are coated on the inside with food-grade tin to prevent chemical reactions with coffee. When the tinning wears away, re-tinning is necessary for safe use. We advise on re-tinning services in Nairobi.

Tarnish and Patina Cleaning

Copper and brass tarnish over time. We clean and polish cezves to restore their original lustre.

Cracked or Worn Spout Area

The narrow neck and spout of a cezve can develop cracks or wear. We assess and advise on metalwork restoration for damaged spout areas.
