HX Machine Faults We Fix
- Brew temperature too high / scalding shots — thermosyphon running too fast, or steam boiler pressurestat set too high.
- Thermosyphon circulation sluggish or stopped — air lock in the heat exchanger tube, or scale blockage in the HX coil.
- Cooling flush not resolving temperature — HX coil scale reducing thermal conductivity even after flushing.
- Group head always cold — failed thermosyphon O-ring preventing hot water circulation to the group.
- Steam boiler pressure dropping quickly — scale on boiler element reducing efficiency, or steam valve leaking.
- Water level sight glass blocked or cracked — cleaning or replacement of the borosilicate sight glass and seal.
