Semi-automatic espresso machine pump running but no flow, pressure gauge reading wrong, or solenoid valve stuck open? Semi-automatic machines combine a motorised pump with manual brew control — faults in either system affect extraction quality. Our Westlands team fixes both.

Semi-Auto Faults We Diagnose & Repair

  • Pump runs but no water at group — blocked internal filter, failed OPV (over-pressure valve), or air-locked pump.
  • Pressure gauge reads too high or low — miscalibrated or failed pressure gauge, or OPV needing adjustment.
  • Solenoid valve not opening — scale-blocked solenoid plunger or burnt-out solenoid coil.
  • Solenoid valve stuck open — leaking coffee after the shot — worn solenoid seal or broken return spring.
  • Brew switch not responding — failed micro-switch or broken wiring to the solenoid circuit.
  • Water dripping from group between shots — group gasket worn or solenoid not seating fully.

Our Semi-Automatic Repair Services

We adjust OPV pressure to 9 bar, replace solenoid coils and seals, swap pumps, and recalibrate pressure gauges. All work tested with a portafilter pressure gauge before the machine leaves our bench.

Brands: Gaggia, Rancilio, ECM, Rocket Espresso, Bezzera, Profitec, Lelit, Breville, Delonghi.
