Steam espresso machine not building pressure, boiler overheating, or safety valve releasing constantly? Steam-driven espresso machines use boiler steam pressure rather than a pump — a simpler design, but one that requires correctly calibrated safety systems. Our Westlands team handles all steam machine repairs.

Steam Espresso Machine Faults

  • No steam pressure building — scaled boiler reducing capacity, failed heating element, or leaking boiler seal.
  • Safety valve releasing prematurely — over-pressure from a faulty pressurestat set too high.
  • Safety valve not releasing (dangerous) — blocked or seized safety valve requiring immediate replacement.
  • Machine producing weak steam — partial scale block in steam tube or under-sized boiler element.
  • Steam wand dripping constantly — worn steam valve seat or failed needle O-ring.
  • Boiler body corroded or pitting — assessment for continued safe use or boiler replacement.

Safety First

Steam espresso machines operate under pressure. We always replace safety valves with correctly rated components and pressure-test the boiler circuit before returning any machine to service.

Brands: Gaggia Classic (older models), basic Delonghi steam models, Bialetti Mokona, Krups steam machines, generic stovetop electric steam units.
