Stereo Faults We Repair
- One channel dead or low — failed output transistor, bias drift, or cold solder joint on the output stage
- Loud hum from speakers — earthing fault, failed filter capacitors on the power supply, or ground loop issue
- Distorted audio at any volume — clipping due to failed driver transistors, or excessive DC offset at the output
- No output at all — blown fuse, failed protection relay, or tripped protection circuit
- Input selector not working — dirty or corroded rotary switch; contact cleaning or switch replacement
- Volume control scratchy or intermittent — potentiometer cleaning or replacement
- Amplifier running excessively hot — bias adjustment, heatsink cleaning, or failed thermal cutout
