Is there a problem with my washing machine water supply?
The very first thing to do is to check that your water supply is turned on. The switch is usually located under your kitchen sink. If the supply is turned on, then check the inlet hose carefully to ensure that there are no kinks which could be restricting or preventing the water supply from reaching your machine.

Is there a problem with the washing machine water inlet valve?
The inlet valve connects the hoses to your washing machine, ensuring that the machine fills up and drains water correctly. The valve controls the hot and cold water that goes into your machine, so if there’s a problem with the water inlet valve, your washing machine may not fill sufficiently or at all. It is usually not possible to repair the valve itself, so we’d recommend that you consult a Glotech engineer who will be able to get hold of replacement spare parts quickly and easily.

Is there a problem with my water level switch?
Washing machine water level switches control the amount of water that goes into the machine to prevent over-filling. Sometimes faulty switches can be the cause of a washing machine not filling with water and they will need to be checked. This is something that should be done by a qualified washing machine engineer as it involves opening up the appliance.

Is there a problem with my washing machine filters?
If there’s a problem with the washing machine filters, it is usually a simple fault to diagnose. Check the filters to ensure that they’re not clogged up, if they are then you can clean them as needed by removing dust and lint. Most appliances are designed to be accessible for the user to maintain the filters on a regular basis. If the filter has deteriorated, then it will need to be replaced with a new one.

Is there a problem with my washing machine pressure chamber?
Another reason for a washing machine not filling with water is a blocked pressure chamber. This can result in air becoming trapped which causes the pressure switch to stay on. You can check this by seeing if the machine will spin even with no water.

Why is my washing machine water supply slow?
If you can see the water going into the machine, but at a slower pace than usual, then the machine is fine, and the problem lies with your water supply. For this you will need to source the help of a plumber.
